Spicy potato soup

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 1 bottle of meat broth
  • 50 g bacon, streaky
  • 1 onion(s)
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • Salt
  • nutmeg
  • marjoram
  • 4 smoked Mettwurst
  • 1 bunch of chives

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces or cubes. Then cook them in the broth. When they are tender, remove them from the broth, mash them, and return them to the broth. Cut the bacon and onion into small cubes and fry them in a pan. Then remove the pan from the heat, let it cool slightly, and deglaze with the sour cream. Cooling is important, otherwise the cream will curdle. Now add everything to the potatoes and season with the spices. Slice the Mettenden sausages and let them simmer in the soup for about 10 minutes. Cut the chives into rings and sprinkle them over the soup just before serving. You can also use Bockwurst or Wiener sausages instead of the Mettenden sausages.
