Spinach Rolls

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g pizza dough
  • 250 g leaf spinach, frozen
  • 150 g herb cream cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • salt and pepper
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • 60 g feta cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • e.g. mozzarella

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 35 minutes

Thaw the spinach leaves. Place the spinach, herb cream cheese, and crushed garlic in a bowl and mix well. Season the mixture with salt and pepper. Then add the cornstarch and mix until the mixture thickens slightly. Roll out the pizza dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and divide into smaller pieces. Spread the prepared mixture with the crumbled feta cheese onto the dough pieces and roll them up in a single layer. Brush the dough with the egg yolk diluted with a little water. If desired, sprinkle some more grated mozzarella on top. Place the spinach rolls in a preheated oven at 200°C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes, until the dough is golden brown.
