Squeeze a Lemon – It’s That Easy

This makes squeezing the lemon effortless

Whether for baking, as a drink rich in vitamins, or as a piquant flavor enhancer when cooking, the small yellow fruit is very versatile. And with a few tricks, the lemon can also be easily squeezed out.

  • Before cutting the lemon in half, roll it back and forth a few times, applying firm pressure. This will open up the lemon juice chambers. If you then squeeze the lemon halves, the juice no longer squirts uncontrollably in all directions because you have previously released the pressure.
  • Alternatively, first cut the lemon in half and prick the juice chambers with a fork. After that, squeeze the lemon without splashing. You can also see this method in the video by our colleagues from Focus Online.
  • If you often squeeze lemons, a lemon squeezer is probably the better option. You get stylish hand presses as well as convenient electric lemon presses.
  • Tip: If you have leftover lemon juice, freeze it in ice cube trays.
