Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 medium-sized egg yolks
  • 125 g butter, soft
  • 1 medium egg yolk
  • 3 tsp milk
  • 3 m.-large egg whites
  • 100 g sugar
  • 175 g desiccated coconut
  • 3 drops of bitter almond flavor

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 180°C. Dough: Mix flour with baking powder. Add the remaining ingredients and mix everything with a mixer until a dough forms. Roll out the dough thinly in small portions, cut out stars in two different sizes (the same number). Place the larger stars on the baking sheet. Mix the egg yolk with the milk and brush the stars with it. Topping: Beat the egg whites until stiff, gradually beat in the sugar. Carefully fold in the desiccated coconut and flavoring. Fill a piping bag with a star-shaped nozzle and pipe onto the large stars. Brush the tops of the small stars with the egg yolk and milk, place them diagonally onto the coconut mixture, and bake for about 10 minutes. Remove the star clouds from the baking sheet using the parchment paper and let them cool on a wire rack.
