Steak sandwich

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 4 pieces of bell pepper(s), grilled, pickled
  • 1 handful of parsley, fresh
  • 100 g rocket or other salad
  • 4 tsp horseradish, mild or hot
  • 1 large baguette(s)
  • 3 slice(s) of meat, pork, beef or turkey

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

First, the pickled bell peppers are finely chopped with a little of their juices, a handful of parsley, and one or two teaspoons of olive oil to ensure they are well mixed together. Then, the meat is seasoned with salt and pepper and seared in a griddle or regular frying pan until golden brown. The meat is then placed directly from the hot pan onto the bell pepper mixture to absorb the flavors and the meat juices further refine the pepper mixture. The bread is split horizontally in half, and the bottom half is topped with lettuce. The meat is then cut into thin strips and arranged on the salad. Mix the bell pepper mixture with the meat juices and spread evenly over the lettuce and meat. Use the top half of the bread to dab up the remaining juices and, if desired, spread with 4-5 teaspoons of horseradish. Place the top half on top, cut everything into pieces, and serve.
