Steak toast

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g mushrooms
  • 100 g onion(s)
  • 4 pork steaks (fillet steaks)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 slices of toast
  • 25 g butter
  • 2 sprigs rosemary
  • 125 ml cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan oven). Clean and halve the mushrooms. Peel the onions and slice them thinly. Heat the oil in a pan and sear the steaks all over. Season with salt and pepper, and remove from the pan. Place on a baking sheet and cook in the preheated oven for 9 minutes. Melt the butter in the pan, stir in the mushrooms, onions, and rosemary sprigs, and fry for 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, add the cream, and bring to a boil briefly. Toast the bread in the toaster, place on two plates, place the steaks on top, and serve with the mushroom and onion sauce. Serve with a citrus salad.
