Ingredients of nettle
- The plant contains, among other things, plenty of vitamin C, mineral salts, chlorophyll, histamine, flavonoids, and provitamin A.
- Nettles stimulate kidney activity and reduce uric acid.
- In addition, the intake has a blood-forming effect on the red blood cells.
- The stinging nettle is also known for having a positive effect on the metabolism and alleviating gastrointestinal complaints.
Thanks to the many ingredients, the super plant can be helpful to your dog in various areas:
Coat and skin problems: If the coat is dull, you can rub the coat with nettle decoction. This makes the coat shine and stops coat problems because the chlorophyll stimulates blood formation and glandular activity.
- Allergies and itching: The flavonoids contained have a decongestant and anti-inflammatory effect. Histamine, on the other hand, is needed by the dog for the body’s own defense against foreign substances.
- Liver function: Eating meat reduces kidney activity and the organism is burdened with the breakdown products of protein metabolism. The unsaturated fatty acids inhibit the activity of inflammatory cells and inflammatory mediators.
- Kidney and Bladder Support: The high mineral content such as potassium has a diuretic effect which encourages your dog’s kidneys to cleanse.
Dosage
For a 20kg dog, take about 1-2 handfuls of stinging nettle.
- It is best to chop them up so that the nutrients can be optimally utilized. You can also administer the plant as a tea. Put the lukewarm tea in the drinking bowl and mix it with fresh water.
- If your dog does not want to drink the nettle tea, you can also add the plant to the food in powder form. However, the effect is not as intense as with tea.
- Try out what the dog likes to eat and how it reacts to the additive in its food.
