If you store grapes properly, they will last longer. There are a number of storage options so that you can enjoy the grapes longer.
Store fresh grapes correctly
If you have fresh, vitamin-rich grapes, it is best to store them in the refrigerator.
- To do this, check the grapes and pluck off bruised, mushy, or moldy grapes. You can dispose of these in the compost.
- Then place the grapes in a bowl, food storage container, or freezer bag and store them in the crisper of the fridge.
- Grapes stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- Even without a refrigerator, you can store fresh grapes in the fruit basket for up to a week. To do this, make sure it is in a cool place out of direct sunlight and regularly remove bruised grapes.
- It is enough if you only wash the grapes before eating them. In this way, you prevent mold from forming as a result of damp spots during storage inside and outside the refrigerator.
Freeze fresh grapes
If you have a lot of fresh grapes and you cannot eat them within 14 days, you can also freeze the grapes.
- To do this, wash the grapes thoroughly and remove brown, crushed, or moldy fruits.
- Pat the grapes dry with a kitchen towel and pack them, stemless, in a freezer bag or container.
- Then place the grapes in the freezer. The grapes can be frozen for up to 6 months and do not become mushy even when thawed.
- Tip: Label the freezer container with the freezing date. So you always know when the grapes should be eaten at the latest.
