Strawberry strudel

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 strudel sheets
  • 800 g strawberries
  • 100 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • 50 g almonds (flaked almonds)
  • 120 g breadcrumbs
  • powdered sugar
  • e.g. butter, liquid, for spreading

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Hull and wash the strawberries, pat dry, and mix with the sugar. Preheat the oven to 220°C. For the crumb mixture, heat the butter, then toast the breadcrumbs, sugar, and flaked almonds in it, stirring constantly, until golden brown. Place one strudel sheet on a damp cloth and brush with melted butter. Place a second strudel sheet on top and also brush with melted butter. Spread a quarter of the buttercrumbs in strips across the bottom third of the dough, place half of the strawberries on top, and sprinkle with another quarter of the buttercrumbs. Fold in the sides of the dough, roll up the strudel, and place it seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Make a second strudel using the two remaining sheets of dough and the remaining filling. Brush both strudels with melted butter. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown. Let the strudel cool slightly and serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
