Streusel apple sheet cake like grandma used to make

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 200 g butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1,500 g apples (Coxorange)
  • 250 g flour
  • 125 g butter
  • 150 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

First, peel the apples, core them, and grate them. Squeeze a little lemon juice over the grated apples to prevent them from browning. For the batter, put the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, baking powder, and eggs in a mixing bowl. The margarine should be nice and soft; I always put it in the microwave for a short time. Add the margarine to the other ingredients in the mixing bowl and let it all mix for 5 minutes until you have a nice batter. The batter is then ready to use. Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the batter evenly. Now place the grated apples, row by row, into the batter. Now bake in an oven preheated to 200°C for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, make the crumble topping. Put 250g of flour, 125g butter, and 150g sugar in a mixing bowl (the butter should be nice and soft) and knead everything together; this works best with your hands. Keep crumbling until you have a crumb topping. After 15 minutes, remove the cake from the oven and sprinkle the crumb topping on top. Then bake for another 15 minutes.
