Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg flour
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 400 g raisins

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Westphalian food for Easter

Combine all ingredients in a bowl with a hand mixer. Add the raisins last. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and then add the batter a spoonful at a time. Place about 4 batters in a pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. I then place them on a kitchen towel to allow some of the fat to drain off. They’re ready to eat. You can also sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
