Stuffed Spanish onions

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 large onions (vegetable onions)
  • 200 g minced beef
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 250 ml meat broth
  • 3 bell peppers, green, yellow, red
  • 4 slices of cheese (toast slices)
  • 4 slice(s) of tomato(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and carefully hollow out the onions. Dice the insides and fry them thoroughly in oil with the minced meat. Season with salt, pepper, chili sauce, and parsley, and stuff the onions with the mixture. Place in an ovenproof dish, pour in the meat broth, and cover and simmer in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes. Slice the bell peppers, add them, and sauté for another 15 minutes. Finally, melt one slice of onion on each onion until creamy, then top with tomato slices. Serve with rice and a fresh green salad.
