Almond flour is often used as a low-carb and gluten-free alternative to wheat flour. It also contains numerous vitamins and nutrients and is low in carbohydrates. But there are other types of flour that have various advantages.

  • Oatmeal : Oatmeal contains many vitamins and nutrients. It has a very mild and slightly nutty taste and is therefore very similar in taste to almond flour. You can buy the flour or you can make your own by grinding oatmeal in a blender.
  • Sunflower seed flour: This type of flour is ideal for sweet and savory low-carb recipes. However, the flour only replaces 25 percent of the amount of flour in the recipe and should therefore be mixed with another flour.
  • Wheat and spelled flour : If you are not following a gluten-free or low-carb diet, wheat and spelled flour are also suitable substitutes.
