Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g sushi rice
  • ½ pack of rice paper
  • 1 head of lettuce
  • e.g. salmon, tuna or surimi
  • e.g. pepper(s), cucumber or avocado
  • e.g. cream cheese or mayonnaise
  • e.g. wasabi paste

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

for those who don’t like nori sheets

Prepare the sushi rice according to the package instructions and let it cool. Remove a few lettuce leaves, wash them, and spin dry. Wash the vegetables and cut into thin strips. Set aside the fish, according to your taste (I usually use smoked salmon). Soften the rice paper according to the package instructions (not all at once). Cover half of a paper with some lettuce, then spread about 2 tablespoons of rice on it with your fingers and press down (moisten your fingers in a bowl of cold water every now and then). Spread with cream cheese, mayonnaise, and/or a very thin layer of wasabi paste, as desired. Then top with the vegetables and fish and roll up. Cut into approximately 4-5 pieces and place on a platter. Serve with wasabi paste, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce.
