Swabian spinach lasagna

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 onions
  • 3 packs of Maultasche(s) (300 g each)
  • 750 g leaf spinach, frozen
  • 2 cups of cream (200 g each)
  • 200 g cheese for topping
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • n. B. Nutmeg
  • n. B. Oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Defrost the frozen spinach. Halve the Maultaschen and fry them in a pan. Meanwhile, slice the onions into half rings. Once the Maultaschen are cooked, remove them from the pan and sauté the onions in the pan. Place the Maultaschen cut-side down in a casserole dish (33 x 22 x 5 cm). Once the onions are translucent, add the spinach and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Then spread the spinach and onion mixture over and between the Maultaschen. Add cream and cover with grated cheese. Bake in the oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat). This recipe is dedicated to my mother. She developed it.
