Swede stew with smoked pork

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g smoked pork
  • 1 kg swede(s)
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Thyme
  • 125 ml cream or milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash the meat and bring to a boil in 1.5 liters of salted water. Cut the washed and peeled turnips into sticks and add them to the meat. Simmer for 80 to 90 minutes, until the liquid has largely evaporated. Cut the potatoes into sticks and add them to the turnips 30 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Remove the meat from the pot and dice it. Season the stew with salt, pepper, and thyme, then pour in the milk or cream. Stir in the diced meat and heat briefly.
