Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
A treat for colder summer days or in autumn
Preheat the oven to 160-180 degrees Celsius (gas mark 2-3). Grease a 25 cm diameter baking pan with butter, then sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Beat the eggs with 200 g of sugar until light yellow and fluffy. Add the butter. Sift together the flour and baking powder, then mix well. Pour the batter into the baking pan. Roll the apples in the remaining sugar mixed with the cinnamon and place on top of the batter. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the surface of the cake is golden brown and a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. The cake can be served hot or lukewarm and is also a great dessert, perhaps with whipped cream for the sweet tooths among us.
