Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 cake base (Vienna base), bought ready-made – keep the other two pieces
- 4 large apples, sour
- 95 ml water
- 125 ml sugar
- 50 g butter, liquid
- 1 pack of sauce powder (vanilla sauce) for cooking
- 1 lemon(s), juice
- possibly whipped cream
- possibly apples (Calvados apples, canned)

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes
for those in a hurry, is light and delicious
Place a cake ring around the base. Peel and coarsely grate the apples. Mix with a little lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Mix the grated apples with the water, sugar, butter, and sauce powder and bring to a boil. Season to taste with the remaining lemon juice. The apple mixture should taste fresh, but not predominantly lemony. Pour the mixture onto the base and smooth it out. Allow to cool slightly, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours. If you like, you can decorate the cake, once removed from the cake ring, with dollops of cream and small canned apples.
