Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g chicken breasts or fillets
  • 100 g flour
  • 30 g starch flour
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 250 ml water
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 4 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 50 g mushrooms
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green
  • 1 red bell pepper(s)
  • 1 slice(s) pineapple, from the can
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Soy sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cut the chicken into strips and season with salt and pepper. Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, water, and egg to form a batter (like a pancake consistency). Dip the chicken into the batter, fry in hot oil, and keep warm. Heat the oil in a pan, add the crushed garlic, sugar, vinegar, and ketchup. Finely chop the mushrooms and bell peppers, mix with the diced pineapple, season, add soy sauce, and sauté until al dente. Thicken with a little cornstarch if desired. Add the meat to the sauce just before serving. Tip: You can also add bamboo shoots and peas.
