Sweet and sour pork

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pork schnitzel
  • 20 g fresh ginger
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 125 ml white wine
  • 4 tbsp vinegar (red wine vinegar)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 red bell pepper(s)
  • 1 bell pepper(s), yellow
  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 125 g soy sprouts
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Cut the pork schnitzel into strips. Peel the ginger and press it through a garlic press into the soy sauce. Mix with the starch, wine, vinegar, sugar, and pepper. Marinate the meat for 1 hour. Cut the bell peppers into strips. Slice the spring onions diagonally. Remove the meat from the marinade and drain. Brown the meat in batches in oil. Add the vegetables and sauté briefly. Pour in the marinade, cover, and cook for 10 minutes. Season with salt.
