Sweet potato dessert

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg sweet potatoes
  • 850 ml milk
  • 175 g sugar
  • Almond(s), chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel, wash, and slice the sweet potatoes. Place them in a large saucepan, add 600 ml of milk, and simmer over low heat until the potatoes are very soft. Remove the sweet potatoes from the heat and puree until very fine. Add the sugar and the remaining milk to the sweet potatoes and mix well. Return the pan to the heat and simmer over low heat until the mixture thickens to a creamy consistency. Arrange the dessert in a serving bowl and garnish with chopped almonds. Tip: Sweet potatoes are longer than regular potatoes and have an orange-yellow skin and yellow or white flesh. They have a slightly sweet taste.
