Sweet Potato Dumplings
The perfect sweet potato dumplings recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
my filling
- 2 el Creme fraiche Cheese
- 2 Egg yolk
- 1 el Soft butter
- 1 tl Salt
- 2 el Marjoram, dried
- 2 slices Black bread
- 2 hands full Raisins
- 3 el Honey, of your choice, mild
- 3 el Olive oil
- First of all ….. the dumplings are not that sweet and go well with anything savory … first I boiled the potatoes, let them cool down and mashed them vigorously … (because I don’t have a potato press)
- I mixed the cooled mass with creme fraiche, egg yolk, soft butter, salt, marjoram and set it aside.
- I cut the bread slices into cubes and chopped the raisins a little. I left out the olive oil and honey in a pan and seared the breadcrumbs and raisins in them.
- Shape the mixture into dumplings, put some of the filling in the middle and let it soak for 25-30 minutes in salted water that has been boiled over a low flame.
- I had oven pot (described) and red cabbage – which I better not describe because it burned me completely, sobbing … but the dumplings were delicious .. I am and will remain a rather unconventional cook, smile ..
