  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 bunch of mixed herbs of the season (alternatively frozen, 8 herbs)

  • 1 chili pepper(s)
  • 1 onion(s)

  • possibly honey

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 20 minutes

The steak for connoisseurs and good eaters

Chop the herbs, garlic, chili, and onion and place them in a tall blender. Top up with soy sauce and olive oil, and blend until smooth using a hand blender. Season the mixture with pepper, salt, and a teaspoon of honey, if desired. Marinate the T-bone steaks overnight. This works best in a freezer bag, with each steak in its own bag, not all together. After marinating, remove the steaks from the bag and let them drain (do not wash them). Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Heat a pan (preferably a steak or grill pan) until very hot. Sear the steaks in a little olive oil on each side for about 2 minutes. Then place the steaks in the oven for about 5-10 minutes (rare to well done), depending on your taste and the size of the steaks. Serve on warmed plates. Suitable side dishes include baked potatoes with sour cream, or simply fresh baguette and salad.
