Tapioca White Wine Orange Pudding
The perfect tapioca white wine orange pudding recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the seasoned syrup
- 50 ml Semi-Dry white wine
- 50 ml Southern Comfort
- 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Maple syrup
- 3 piece Cardamom pods
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon blossoms
- 1 For the tapioca pudding
- 100 ml Semi-Dry white wine
- 20 ml Southern Comfort
- 100 ml Water
- 2 teaspoon Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon Maple syrup
- 1 small Cinnamon stick
- 3 teaspoon Tapioca starch
- 3 Anything else…
- 1 whole Orange
- 2 teaspoon Pistachios
First cook the spice syrup …
- Bring white wine, southern comfort (or another orange liqueur), lemon juice, maple syrup, cinnamon blossoms and cardamom capsules to the boil and then reduce for about 20 minutes until it thickens like a syrup
Fillet orange …
- Cut away the peel and the white part of the orange all around with a sharp knife – then cut out the fillets between the skins and then cut into small pieces – catch the juice and then add to the syrup – the remnants of the orange skins also become the syrup given and cooked with
Prepare tapioca pudding
- Bring white wine, southern comfort, maple syrup, lemon juice to the boil together with a small piece of cinnamon stick – meanwhile, sprinkle the tapioca flour in 100 ml of cold water and then add to the boiling wine mass – simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly so that no lumps are formed
Complete
- Fill the pudding into portion glasses and immediately add the orange pieces – sprinkle the pistachios over them and then chill the pudding briefly – before serving, the spicy syrup is on top

- Tapioca is an almost tasteless starch made from processed and dried cassava roots … it is also often used in Asian cuisine to thicken sauces … the sauces thus get the transparent, almost jelly-like consistency typical of Asian dishes
