Tarte Flambée with Ham

The perfect tarte flambée with ham recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the dough

  • 220 g Flour
  • 100 ml Water
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 piece Egg yolk
  • 1,5 tsp Salt
  • 1 pinch Flour for rolling

Covering

  • 1 piece Vegetable onion
  • 125 g Breakfast bacon
  • 100 g Creme fraiche Cheese
  1. Knead the flour, 2 tablespoons of oil, egg yolk, salt and 100 ml of water to form a smooth dough. Shape the dough into a ball and brush with the remaining oil, wrap in foil and leave to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  1. Cut the onion into thin rings and the bacon into thin strips. Preheat the oven to 240 degrees, convection 220 degrees, gas mark 6. Halve the dough. Roll out each portion of dough on a floured work surface into a thin flatbread. Spread the crème fraîche on the two flatbreads. Cover the dough with onion rings and strips of bacon and bake in the oven for about 8-10 minutes.
