Tarte flambée / onion cake

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 350 g flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 50 g lard, cracklings
  • 15 g yeast, fresh
  • 200 g water, lukewarm
  • 250 g crème fraîche (or sour cream)
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Salt and pepper, paprika, garlic as desired
  • 2 onions
  • 150 g bacon, diced

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Sift flour into a bowl. Add salt, sugar, and cracklings. Dissolve yeast in water and add. Knead all ingredients thoroughly until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Cover and let rise for 1/2 hour. Roll out the yeast dough on a baking sheet. Form a small edge. Mix the crème fraîche and milk and season. Spread the mixture evenly over the yeast dough, top with onion rings and bacon cubes. Bake in a preheated oven at 230°C (fan oven) for about 15 minutes. Enjoy hot.
