Teriyaki Chicken

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 125 ml soy sauce, Japanese
  • 2 tbsp rice wine (Mirin)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 12 pieces of chicken (chicken drumsticks)

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Stir the soy sauce, mirin, and sugar in a saucepan over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for 2 minutes. Heat the oil in a large cast-iron skillet. Fry the chicken thighs, one at a time, over high heat until golden brown on both sides. Return all thighs to the skillet, add the sauce, and cover. Cook for about 20 minutes. Serve with rice.
