Teriyaki Chicken with Cabbage from Wok

The perfect teriyaki chicken with cabbage from wok recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 800 g Chicken meat
  • 500 g White cabbage (white cabbage)
  • 2 piece Onion
  • 1 piece Red peppers
  • 3 tbsp Peanut oil
  • 150 g Fresh bean sprouts mayashi
  • Fresh ginger
  • Teriyaki sauce
  • 3 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 0,5 tbsp Sesame oil
  • Asian wheat noodles

alternatively

  • Chilli sauce or fresh chilli

Dishes history

  1. I learned this recipe in Spain from a Japanese college student at the time: A Japanese family recipe with resources that were available in Spain. Chicken in teriyaki sauce tastes delicious and goes well with a stir-fry with cabbage and wok. The sauces used in Japanese cuisine, such as soy, teriyaki and oyster sauce, can hardly / not be made by yourself, which is why you have to use purchased products. The rest of the food should of course be fresh and as little as possible out of the can.

preparation

  1. Wash vegetables, wash meat, pat dry and cut into pieces. Cut the cabbage, onion and bell pepper (into strips). Put the chicken in plenty of teriyaki sauce, which is mixed with pieces of ginger. Let the whole thing draw in. 20-30 minutes are enough, but preferably over several hours.

preparation

  1. Sear the cabbage, onion and bell pepper in peanut oil in a wok and roast. Attention, the whole thing must not be boiled soft. Take everything out of the wok, now fry the meat.
  2. Add 5 tbsp teriyaki sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, 1/2 tbsp sesame oil and reduce briefly.
  3. Now add the cabbage back to the meat, mix both and continue to fry together until the cabbage is soft. The fresh bean sprouts at the end – they are / will be cooked through and should stay crisp – add, stir well and fry everything for a short time again / toss in the wok.
  4. Season again with approx. 5 tablespoons teriyaki, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, salt and some chili (sauce), simmer briefly.
  5. Prepare Asian noodles – depending on the desired amount – in salted water. Attention, the noodles are usually ready in 3-5 minutes.
  6. Mix the noodles with the rest in the wok, arrange on plates and serve. Possibly Sharpen with hot chili sauce.
