Texas Roulades

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 3 beef roulades
  • 200 ml BBQ sauce
  • 6 slices of breakfast bacon
  • 4 ½ slices of cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 10 minutes

A slightly different kind of roulade. Spicy, with bacon and cheese.

Briefly rinse the beef roulades under running water and spread them out on a board. Brush the slices with BBQ sauce, top with bacon and cheese. Roll the slices and their contents into roulades and secure them with roulade clamps or toothpicks. Sear the roulades in a pan or pot until lightly browned on each side. Then pour a little boiling water onto the sides and cover with a lid. Braise the roulades for 1.5 hours until tender. Add a little more boiling water if needed. Serve the roulades with a side dish of your choice. Suitable side dishes include bacon-wrapped beans, fried potatoes, chips, baked beans, etc.
