Thai sweet and sour chicken

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 500 g chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp flour (alternatively corn flour)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green
  • 6 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 300 g pineapple pieces (small can)
  • 100 ml chicken broth
  • 1 tsp soy sauce, sweet
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 dashes vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Gai Pad Priau Wan

Cut the chicken into small strips and coat in flour. Dice the onion and bell pepper. Drain the pineapple. Heat the oil in a wok or frying pan. Add the chicken to the wok and fry for about five minutes. Remove the chicken from the wok with a ladle. Add the onions and bell pepper to the wok and fry for two minutes. Add the ketchup, pineapple, chicken stock, soy sauce, sugar, and vinegar and stir-fry. Add the meat and cook for another two minutes. Serve with rice. This recipe is ideal for beginners to Thai cooking, as it is very simple and almost guaranteed to be a success.
