The Doctor Told What Diseases Blueberries Protect Against

People with pancreatic diseases should refrain from eating blueberries. Nutritionist Svetlana Fus listed the beneficial properties of blueberries.

As the doctor noted on Instagram, due to its high silicon content, the berry strengthens bones and improves joint mobility, and the condition of skin, hair, and nails.

Blueberries also contain a lot of iron, iodine, manganese, and antioxidants. In addition, this berry contains myrtillin, which lowers blood sugar levels.

“Eating fresh blueberries, a person absorbs only a part of their beneficial properties, as the stone is practically undigested. At the same time, many of the berry’s valuable substances are found in the stone. Among them are important components: omega fatty acids, polyphenols, antioxidants, pectins, and chlorogenic acid,” the expert said.

However, there are contraindications to the use of blueberries.

They are as follows:

  • The berry, its juice, and everything that may contain it is contraindicated in urolithiasis. Namely, with oxalate stones.
  • Those who suffer from allergies or individual intolerance to certain components of blueberries should not consume this berry.
  • Excessive consumption can cause constipation.
  • People with pancreatic diseases should also refrain from eating it.
