The gastroenterologist warned of the danger and gave the reason why hot tea should not be drunk. Gastroenterologist and nutritionist Yana Vasilieva explained the dangers of hot drinks.

According to the expert, first of all, hot drinks should not be hotter than 37 degrees, otherwise, it is dangerous.

The fact is that you can damage the esophageal mucosa. And despite the fact that it will be just a micro-burn, its consequences can be serious. Studies have shown that over the years, drinkers of hotter drinks can develop serious types of cancer.

According to the doctor, tea can be especially harmful. And all because the drink contains tannins.

“These substances are tannins. The combination of strong tea with fatty foods negatively affects stomach function,” Vasilieva explained. In addition, it is harmful to drink strong alcoholic beverages with a hot drink, as ethanol burns the mucous membrane.

As the gastroenterologist explained, tea makes alcohol components more actively absorbed into the bloodstream, causing a toxic effect. This puts a strain on the heart and blood vessels, attacks the nervous system, and attacks the liver.
