Doctor Explains Why Hot Tea Can be dDangerous

The expert says that if you drink tea whose temperature exceeds 60 degrees Celsius, it can lead to some problems.

Despite the fact that tea is considered to be one of the drinks that benefit health, its improper use can pose certain health risks. This is reported by Medik Forum with reference to the opinion of one of the leading researchers of the American Cancer Society (ACS), Farhad Islami, MD.

The expert says that if you drink tea whose temperature exceeds 60 degrees Celsius, it can lead to a doubling of the risk of certain types of cancer.

In addition, a study was conducted that found that drinking tea in an amount of fewer than 700 milliliters and a temperature of more than 60 degrees every day increases the risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma by about 90 percent.

According to Islami, it can be concluded that the consumption of any hot beverages, not just tea, can lead to such consequences. The doctor urged those who like to drink hot and wait until the drink they are going to drink cools down and becomes warm.
