The Doctor Told Which Ice Cream is the Healthiest

People with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract should never eat ice cream. In summer, ice cream is one of the most favorite treats. But few people know that it is not the healthiest because of its high sugar and fat content.

Elena Solomatina, a nutritionist and Ph.D., told us how to choose the most appropriate version of this dessert. According to her, the fewer ingredients an ice cream contains, the better it is. By carefully reading the product’s composition, you can choose the healthiest option. It is best to choose sorbet.

“The healthiest ice cream is sorbet, i.e. ice cream made only from natural juice with pulp. It is desirable that it also does not contain sugar,” said Solomatina.

The nutritionist notes that a healthy person should eat no more than one serving of ice cream a day. “You can afford natural ice cream, but you have to remember not to overeat it. Ice cream is a dessert, and it contains a lot of sugar. And the same ice cream also contains a lot of fat. For a healthy person, the limit is one serving per day,” she said.

In addition, ice cream is generally contraindicated for people with gastrointestinal diseases, overweight, diabetes, or pre-diabetes.
