The world's best cinnamon stars

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g marzipan paste, finely chopped or coarsely grated
  • 250 g powdered sugar
  • 250 g almonds, ground
  • 25 g cinnamon powder
  • 3 egg whites
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 lemon(s), juice,

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

For the dough, knead the marzipan, powdered sugar, almonds, cinnamon and 3 egg whites together in a bowl. Then roll out the dough to a thickness of about 5 mm. This works well on powdered sugar. Then cut out stars. Dip the star shapes in powdered sugar every now and then to prevent the dough from sticking. Place the stars on a baking tray lined with baking paper. For the icing, sift the powdered sugar, beat the 2 egg whites until stiff and carefully mix with the powdered sugar and a little lemon juice (amount to taste). The icing should not be too runny, it should have a very thick consistency. Spread it thickly over the stars. Bake in a preheated oven at approx. 150 °C top/bottom heat (130 °C fan-assisted) for approx. 15 minutes. I always use top/bottom heat.
