Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 ½ kg thick rib
- 4 onions, in rings
- 2 tbsp butter
- 100 ml ketchup
- 50 ml vegetable oil
- 1 onion(s), finely chopped
- 25 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard, medium hot
- 2 tbsp mustard, sweet
- 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 200 ml water
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 15 minutes
First, prepare the marinade. To do this, combine all ingredients in a pot and simmer over medium heat for 30 minutes. Allow the marinade to cool. Preheat the oven to 160°C (fan oven). In the meantime, sear the ribs in a little oil. Place the ribs in a roasting pan with the onion rings and the marinade and mix thoroughly. Place the roasting pan, covered, in the preheated oven for 2 hours, then uncovered for another 30 minutes. Serve with thick fries or similar.
