Toast Baked with Cheese Cream

The perfect toast baked with cheese cream recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 125 g Emmental
  • 125 g Gruyere
  • 2 Eggs separated
  • 5 tbsp White wine dry
  • 1 Garlic clove crushed
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 pinch Freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 pinch Chilli flakes
  • 4 disc Toast
  • 50 g Butter
  1. Coarsely grate both types of cheese. Mix the egg yolks with the wine and the crushed garlic, then mix with the cheese and season with salt, chilli or cayenne pepper and nutmeg.
  2. Toast toast bread (we had larger slices of sandwich toast). Beat egg whites into egg whites and fold into the cheese mixture. Place the buttered bread slices next to each other in a baking dish and cover with the cheese cream. Baked in a preheated oven at 200 ° C on an upper rail for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Variation with smoked bacon

  1. 8-10 slices of bacon in a large pan with a little fat (pork lard, oil, clarified butter, …), remove and toast the bread in the fat. Place the pork belly on the toasts and brush with the cheese mixture.
