Tomato chili sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 large onions
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 5 tbsp olive oil for frying
  • 4 small chili peppers
  • 1 gr. can/n tomato(s), approx. 800 g
  • 1 can tomatoes, chopped, approx. 400 g
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp oregano
  • 2 tbsp basil
  • 100 ml vegetable stock
  • 200 ml cream
  • e.g. salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

with fresh chili for the spice

Dice the onions. Finely chop the garlic. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan. Sauté the onions and garlic. Slice the chili peppers lengthwise and add them to the onions. Cover and sauté the onions until soft. Then add all the tomatoes and tomato paste and bring to a boil with the spices. Then add the stock and cream and let it simmer slightly. Serve the sauce with spaghetti. Based on 4 servings, one serving has 284 kcal.
