Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g cream or Cremefine
  • 60 g tomato paste
  • 40 ml rosé wine or white wine, alternatively water
  • 30 g cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp Italian herbs
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

simple basic sauce for pasta or minced meat dishes

In a saucepan, whisk together the cream, tomato paste, and wine or water, and heat. Add the herbs and cheese, melt the cheese, and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. This sauce is perfect as a simple pasta sauce or as a base for meat dishes. I like to use it to top schnitzels or for lasagna. Tips: If you like, you can also fry a few diced onions or ham at the beginning. It also works well as a shrimp sauce. In this case, I like to swap the wine for a little brandy.
