Tomato gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • 250g mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 stalks of basil
  • 2 tbsp pesto

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Rinse the tomatoes, pat dry, and slice, removing the stems. Drain the mozzarella and then slice it as well. Layer the tomatoes and mozzarella in a greased gratin dish, alternating them in a shingle pattern. Drizzle with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper. Bake for about 20 minutes. Rinse the basil, pat dry, and pick off the leaves. Drizzle the gratin with pesto and garnish with the basil. Serve with fresh baguette.
