Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg tomatoes
- 375 g mozzarella
- Butter, for greasing the casserole dish
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper
- 1 pinch(s) of cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp pesto, (ready-made product)
- Basil, for garnishing
Instructions

Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems, and slice them. Slice the mozzarella as well. Layer the tomato and mozzarella slices in a buttered baking dish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper, and drizzle with olive oil. Bake in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 20 minutes. Drizzle with pesto and garnish with chopped basil before serving.
