Tomato rice for children

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 bag of rice (microwave rice), ready-made or home-cooked
  • 200 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 Cabanossi or Polish Frankfurter
  • salt and pepper
  • marjoram
  • possibly fat for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 13 minutes

simple, quick and perfect for little gourmets

Cut the smoked sausage into 0.5 cm thick slices and fry in a pot with little or no fat. Loosen the rice in the bag until there are no lumps (cook the boil-in-the-bag rice according to the instructions beforehand). Then add the rice and the passata to the sausages and season with the spices. Stir frequently and simmer over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. I like to serve it with nacho chips as a side dish, so the kids can spoon the rice in like chili con carne. I like to make this recipe for my son, who doesn’t like a lot of vegetables and for whom I often find it difficult to cook creatively.
