Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • 500 ml tomato(s), strained
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 onions
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • oregano
  • basil
  • Parsley
  • olive oil
  • some Parmesan, grated, as needed
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the onions and garlic, dice them into small cubes, and sauté them in olive oil. Quarter the tomatoes, remove the stems, and add them. Simmer over medium heat for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste and season with herbs and spices, if desired. Remove the bay leaves and puree with a hand blender. Season to taste, if desired, or sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serve with spaghetti.
