Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g cherry tomatoes or date tomatoes, small
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ m.-large onion(s), red
  • 5 basil leaves
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • Salt
  • 40 ml cream

Cut off the stems of the tomatoes. Halve the tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Finely chop the garlic cloves and sprinkle over the tomatoes. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Microwave for 4 minutes at 750W, then transfer to a blender. Finely chop the onion and fry in a small pan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil over high heat until lightly browned. Add the onion to the blender along with the basil leaves, sugar, tomato paste, and cream and puree everything until smooth. Season with salt. You’ve got a delicious tomato sauce ready, perfect for spaghetti Napoli, for example, or as a base for many other tomato sauce recipes.
