Tortellini with spinach, cheese and cream sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g tortellini
  • 1 small onion(s), finely diced
  • 125 g smoked bacon (Katenspeck), diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 chili pepper(s), medium hot, finely chopped
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 100 ml water
  • 250 g spinach, frozen
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • 400 ml processed cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Fry the diced onion and bacon in hot oil until translucent. Add the chili pepper and garlic and fry briefly. Now add 100 ml of water and the spinach and simmer until the spinach is tender. Add the cream and cream cheese and simmer. Once the cream cheese is completely melted, simmer for about 1 more minute. Meanwhile, cook the tortellini according to the package instructions until al dente and drain. Arrange the tortellini on plates and pour the sauce over them. Serve immediately.
