Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g Knackwurst, Bockwurst or Fleischwurst
  • rapeseed oil
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tsp mustard, medium hot
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 3 tsp goulash spice
  • 1 pinch of pepper, ground or chili powder
  • 100 g mushrooms, fresh or from the can
  • salt and pepper

hearty and spicy sausage goulash

Cut the sausage into cubes of about 2 cm. Peel and dice the onion. Clean and dice the bell pepper, also clean and dice the mushrooms (if using fresh mushrooms). Otherwise, take the sliced ​​mushrooms out of the can and finely dice 1 clove of garlic. Brown the sausage in a pan with rapeseed oil, then remove and set aside. In the same pan, sauté the onions, bell pepper, mushrooms and the clove of garlic. Then top up with 375 ml of water. Add the tomato paste, mustard and goulash seasoning and add the sausage cubes back to the vegetables. Then add a pinch of chili pepper and the crème fraîche. Bring to a boil briefly and season to taste.
