Tuna sandwich

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 can of tuna in its own juice or oil, approx. 180 g
  • ½ onion(s), chopped into small cubes
  • 2 gherkins, chopped into small cubes
  • 1 egg(s), hard-boiled, chopped into small cubes
  • 2 tbsp, heaped salad mayonnaise
  • 100 ml cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper
  • ½ tsp dill tips
  • 4 slice(s) sandwich toast (do not toast)
  • e.g. lettuce leaves
  • e.g. tomato slices

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

American style

Combine the salad mayonnaise and cream with the spices and dill to make a sauce. Add the drained tuna and mix with the sauce until spreadable. Then fold in the chopped onion, cucumber, and egg cubes. Spread on a sandwich, place a second slice on top, and cut into wedges or quarters. Garnish with lettuce leaves and tomato slices, if desired. Great for parties. Tip: Depending on the canned tuna, season the mixture with salt again, as the brine and mayonnaise have different salt concentrations.
