A recipe from my American friend

Peel the turnips, halve them, and slice them. Wash and chop the turnip leaves, parsley, and spring onions. Melt the butter in a large pot and brown the turnips on all sides. Deglaze with a little chicken stock and add the turnip leaves. Sauté in very little liquid for about 10 minutes. Add a little more stock if necessary. Season to taste with salt, freshly ground black pepper, sugar, and a little chili powder. Add the cream and mix well. Now add the parsley and spring onions, stir, and serve.
