Ancient recipe from my great-grandmother
Knead flour, water, oil, and salt into a smooth dough. This works best in a food processor for about 5-8 minutes. Then let it rest in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, peel and core an apple and cut it into very fine strips. Divide the dough into portions and roll into sausages about 1 cm thick, cutting each piece every 1 cm; the piece should be a 1×1 cm square. Fry all the pieces of dough in a pan with oil, turning them frequently. When the little dumplings have turned a little brown, pour a little milk over them, add the apples, and cook until it has reduced. Repeat the process with the milk until it is used up. It doesn’t matter if you need a little more milk. Season to taste with sugar at the end.
