Tyrolean Cheese Dumplings

The perfect tyrolean cheese dumplings recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Bread cubes
  • 3 piece Onion chopped depending on the size
  • 6 piece Free range eggs
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 1 bunch Chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper from the mill, freshly grated nutmeg
  • 100 g Butter
  • Oil for baking
  • 350 g Cheese I prefer mountain cheese
  1. In a pan, the finely chopped onion is sautéed with the butter, then left to cool.
  2. Put the bread cubes in a bowl and add milk, eggs, onion, parsley, salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste and mix well.
  3. Add the grated cheese to the mixture. Stir a few times and let rest. (20 minutes)
  4. Now patties are formed with wet hands.
  5. Let the oil in the pan get hot and fry the patties in it until golden brown, turning several times. (On a low setting, each side approx. 8 min.) Drain on kitchen paper.
  6. Then put the cheese dumplings in the prepared soup as a soup insert. With chives on top.
  7. They also taste great with salad
